New Video Installation

I finally got to show my new video work at Passage of Night; Luminary Rising. This is the 3rd time Ive been commissioned to show at the Lunar New Year Show at Chatswood Artspace on the Concourse. The theme examines the significance of the moon and how it is reflected across cultures.

‘One’, a video installation that explores the one-ness of the Earth and Moon, regarding, influencing and transforming each other in a single, dynamic system. This unity - together in equilibrium - and duality - ever-changing in tension - creates a balance in energy and influence which directly intersects with the Chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang, where light and dark are both separate, and also come together into one, an eternal system of renewal where opposing energies work together to create harmony and balance.

This artwork consists of a dual-screen video installation, composed of near-live video, data-driven animation and pre-rendered animation.

One, 2024, Multi-channel video animation still.

Finalist in The Ravenswood Art Prize 2023

I’m a finalist in the Ravenswood Women’s Art Prize 2023!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!

My entry is the most recent Installtion frm Chatswood’s Inner Edge Drifting” show, called “Peranakan”. This work explores the concept of the third cultural space through the generations of my mother and grandmother. The motifs and forms represented in the installation represent meaningful objects, heirlooms and photographs that I have used to consider their lives as Peranakans, a multi-racial mix of Chinese and Malay descent. It consists of laser-cut wood pieces with acrylic paint, and spans over 3 walls, and overall about 20 separate pieces in total.

From their website… “Congratulations to our 2023 Finalists! Thank you to all artists who entered the Ravenswood Australian Women's Art Prize. Your support of the Art Prize has been incredible this year, with a record number of 2042 entries.”

Process Video of the brand, Food Agility

The lovely people at Food Agility wanted me to produce a video about the process for creating their logo.

“To match Food Agility's rapid growth into Australia's agri-tech landscape, we are proud to launch our brand new logo.

We commissioned art director Karen Lee to create a brand identity that conveyed transformation, agility, nature and collaboration. We think she nailed it. We see the two leaves as representing the synergy between our commercial and research agendas.”

Latest Work

I have just finished off 2 big projects, one commercial and one arty!

The Food Agility branding work needed a really special print brochure. Megan Tudope, the Comms director and I worked hard to produce this extra special multi-leaf print document. The shapes of the pages echo the logo design and the colours are incorporated into the overall design. Soooo proud!!
